After a fabulous weekend with great friends (M & G) in the Cotswolds, who like us appreciate good food, good ales and good wine it only deserves a few words and photos.

Hello, I know it’s been a long time and I hope you haven’t all missed my posts too much. I know I’ve been slack in posting (life has been busy) but it doesn’t mean I haven’t got some fab food tales to tell, so rather than try to recall correctly all the details from the past month or so I thought I’d post a storyboard of my highlights, I hope you enjoy and feel free to ask any questions…

|August is the busiest month of the year for me, hence the lack of blog writing or to be honest anything much other than work! And I can always tell when I have recovered and getting back to my usual self as I find myself in the kitchen and wanting to cook up a storm again!|
I am so pleased my passion and creativity came back this weekend as we had friends around for dinner… Continue Reading the return of fab food……

So I went away to a friends for the weekend in the Cotswolds. With our typical British Summer the weather wasn’t great but I had an amazing weekend. All be it a bit random and unexpected but always in a good and memorable way.

Everyone must have heard of the Channel 4 programme Come Dine With Me, and I expect it’s quite common for groups of friends and family to take part in a similar event. Along with friends from work we decided to hold our own Come Dine With You experience (although we think Come Wine With Me might be more apt!). Everyone would host an evening at their own home with a theme of their choice. It also doesn’t need to be a full three course meal it could just be pizza and a movie. I was the first host….
1 week ago today I proudly completely the Torbay Half Marathon (2hrs 2mins 30 secs) with a special friend. This is the furthest I have ever run and as we were staying in Torquay that night with our hubstars it only seemed right to indulge in some celebratory drink, food and then more drink!

I do feel guilty as it’s been a while since I’ve managed to write a post. Life has mainly been taken up with running having completed two 10k races. Although I have of course still been eating and cooking but meals have mainly been real quick and easy or recipes I’ve already written about. However I do like to think my articles are more about quality than quantity.

Memories Restaurant in Northam – well what can I say, it’s just fabulous – easily my favourite place to eat in the area. I know I have written about it before in my post Loving Memories Restaurant but I am still very much in love after dining there on Friday night with friends who had never tried the Memories experience . . .

This blog is more of a pictogram of my week in Italy and some of the drinks we indulged in; mainly wine. Italian Pinot Grigio has never been my favourite grape but we tried lots of wines from the region local to us at Passo Tonale, Trentino, including Pinot Grigio and they were all delicious. As we said during wine tasting many would fit into the “dangerous box”. It has educated me so that I will now look out for wine from this region.
